Lycoming County, Pennsylvania is the place to come for outdoor recreational activities. Fishing, hiking, wildlife photography & watching, biking, hunting, golfing, hang-gliding, state parks, all sorts of winter sports, historical sites and much, much more! Williamsport, nestled in the Susquehanna River Valley near the Bald Eagle Mountain, is rich in history and full of things to do and see. Our streams offer some of the best fishing on the East Coast. Enjoy hiking, swimming, skiing (downhill and cross-country), ATV, bicycling, archery, hunting, airplane rides, wildlife watching, or just kicking back and relaxing. Horseback riding or covered wagon rides in Pennsylvania's Grand Canyon are "must-do" activities at Mountain Trail Horse Center.
The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania offers fishing, hiking and biking along the completed Rails to Trails running down the canyon. Also enjoy photography, canoeing, white-water rafting and lots more. Up the road a little you can visit Potter County, also known as "God's Country". Stop in at the Lycoming County Historical Museum, the Little League Baseball World Series (August) and Museum (year-round). Or try visiting "Millionaires Row" - the Victorian houses of Williamsport, formerly the "Lumber Capital of the World". The nearby White Deer Golf Course offers two eighteen hole golf courses. All of this is in or near Lycoming County.
